Arizona native and longtime Prescott resident Joseph Robertson has spent his life in the arts: first as a musician and composer, then as a recording studio owner/engineer, and finally as a visual artist.
Self-taught, Joseph has worked in stone, acrylics and now scratchboard. Drawing on a life in the west, his depictions of wildlife and cowboy life are intricate in detail and rustic in form.
Joseph has won many awards for his scratchboard talent. Awards include those at the Tempe (Arizona) Festival of the Arts, Artfest of Henderson (Nevada), and the St. George (Utah) Arts Festival. He has also won several awards over the years at the prestigious Phippen Western Art Show; in 2016 he garnered the “Phippen Family Award.”
